No sun but lots of smiles!

We might have had limited sun, but we had plenty of smiles! This little girl was full of smiles and sunshine! Normally the hardest ages to photograph are between 1-2 years old, but this was not the case for this session. She loved the camera and my camera loved her! She would fall and smile, she would run and smile, she charmed everyone who passed by! Here are some favorites:

Beautiful girls + Beautiful light = Perfect Evening!

I'm frequently asked the same 3 questions. 1. When is the best time to take photos? 2. What should we wear? And 3. What's the best place to take them? Everything came together in this session. We met around 4pm, the wore a mixture of neutral and bright print colors, and we met at a great park with beautiful trees. Here's the result:

Two little pumpkins!

I love these little guys. I've been photographing big brother since he was 3 months old and it's so fun watching him go from baby to big boy! Even though it was officially his brother's session, I managed to catch a few of him, too. As for little brother, he's definitely on a mission with his milestones and I wouldn't be surprised if he's walking by next session!

It's a girl!

All I've booked lately have been boys, so it was fun to photograph a little girl. She was a hungry little girl who liked to take little milk breaks, and always came back with a cute smile and expression. Here are some favorites:

Evening in the Park

This was a really cute family session with big sister and little brother enjoying the fall weather. Although I did capture a few more formal shots of the family, some of my favorite shots are more natural and so I included this one as an example of a beautiful candid shot.

The Foundrie

I've been wanting to do this for awhile. Many of my client's are business owners or provide a certain skill or service and I want to help spread the word. If you're a client of mine and have a business or service, please contact me! It's important to shop local, and here's a great local business set to open the end of November for the holiday season!

I'm VERY excited about this boutique. If you're a fan of Etsy.com and all the amazing items you can find there, you should make sure to check out The Foundrie when it opens November 26th. This will be the place to find unique one of a kind gifts for yourself and others. Don't forget to check out the website, a great blog to follow!

The beauty & the bump

I meant to look this great while I was pregnant, but somehow fell short. I really liked this couple, besides being really photogenic, they were really sweet and easy going. I'm looking forward to spending a year with them documenting such a lucky little baby. One of the other great things about this session was their location. They had this incredible land behind their property with a trail that I am already eager to photograph their little one on. We also did studio photos, so it was a nice mixture of both.

Monkey See Monkey Do

The first year of life is such an amazing year. It's why I love being able to photograph all the milestones that occur during this time. I understand this well because I am currently enjoying my little one's first year of life; it reminds me of how quickly it passes by. This little guy has really started interacting with his parents. He mimics sounds and facial expressions and lights up when he sees his loved ones. Here are some favorites:

Lighting strikes twice!

I'm so glad the lighting was so beautiful during this session because when I did their maternity session we also had incredible light. This little guy is SO ADORABLE. Oh my goodness, those eyes, dimples, and happy personality mixed with his moms good fashion sense...well he's just perfect! Here's the proof:

Simple can be better

It took a little bit for this little girl to share her smiles, but once her tummy was full, she had a comfortable onsie and mom and dad to cuddle with, she was as happy as can be. It's a good example that sometimes the simpliest idea such as lying in bed can make for the best images. It's always great to go out and do sessions at various locations, but don't forget that bedrooms often have great lighting and can provide familiarity and comfort to little ones. Here's some photos from the session:

9 months in the park

A nice fall day for a trip to the park and to show off some newly learned skills. It's so fun to watch as skills are learned and improved upon. He was at his happiest when he was standing, walking with assistance or crawling toward my camera. No more stationary life for this family! Here are some favorites:
